A communal conversation series that explores musings on race, white supremacy and identity through the context of psychology.
About this Event
This Way Is Life is a new For Real Therapy communal conversation series that explores musings on race, white supremacy and identity through the context of psychology. Our kick-off event will reflect recent essays titled “The Psychology of Representation”, which examine micro-reactions, representation in professional environments and anti-racist methods that counteract mainstream society’s relationship and tokenization of BIPOC individuals.
The event will be roughly an hour and a half long and will be led by Dr. Fabrice Lubin and Michael Thomas, PhD. We will facilitate and encourage conversation and discourse around three major questions:
When was the first time you felt seen?
How does lack of representation disrupt your daily life?
What does it take to create an anti-racist environment?
This event will be sliding scale $5-10 and 50% of proceeds will be going toward our partner @brownbooksandpaintbrushes -- the rest will go toward sustaining For Real Therapy.
This event will be held on Zoom and you will get a link the morning of the event. You can read the aforementioned essays before the event here: https://www.forrealtherapy.com/musings
